CHILDREN

Unfortunately, disputes involving children following a relationship breakdown are common.

You will always be encouraged to try and reach an agreement with a former partner as the experts believe that parents working together is in the best interests of the child. However, this is of course not always possible. If negotiations and mediation fail, then an application to the court may be necessary.

If parents cannot agree, the court can be asked to make a decision upon any aspect of a child’s life, including with whom they should live, who they should see and when, where they should go to school, any issue concerning their upbringing or if they should be allowed to move abroad, outside of the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Uncertainty over the future of your loved ones is stressful. We provide support from the initial meeting, throughout mediation and in helping you navigate the court process, providing sensitive, objective and clear advice throughout.
